Delivery Requirements (Signature, ID Check, Age Verification)
At FlashBox, we give multiple options to merchants to add to their deliveries, such as Signature, Identity Check, and Age Verification. In this article, you will learn more about each of these requirements and how you need to proceed with each of them.
Note that these features are not always required, and they are needed upon the merchant's request.
When this option is chosen by our merchants, you will need to hand the parcel in person to the receiver and ask them to sign on the Driver App.
Follow the steps listed below:
➡️ Once on the Proof of delivery step
➡️ Click on Add Signature button
➡️ A pop-up opens to get the signature.
➡️ Ask the end-user to sign the page on your app
⚠️ Note that you should never sign on behalf of the customer.
Merchant use this option for products such as items containing alcohol, cannabis, e-cigarette, etc. these, items for which age verification is required by law.
There are three options for the merchants to choose from ages over 18, 19 or 21 based on provincial laws for delivering alcohol, cannabis, e-cigarette, etc.
Follow the steps listed below:
➡️ Make sure to check the receiver's name on the app with the receiver's ID card
➡️ Fill in the year of birth field as shown on the receiver's ID card
➡️ The age will be confirmed automatically if the requirement is met
ID-verified deliveries contain regulated products where the receiver needs to show their ID card to accept them.
Follow the steps listed below:
➡️ Make sure to check the receiver's name on the app with the receiver's ID card
➡️ It should be a photo ID card i.e. driver license, health card, PR card, etc.
➡️ Fill in the last 3 digits of the receiver's ID number
⚠️ Note that you should only accept valid Canadian Photo ID or Passports, you can find the list of Canadian photo IDs HERE.

**Signature (In-person handoff)**
When this option is chosen by our merchants, you will need to hand the parcel in person to the receiver and ask them to sign on the Driver App.
